Leadership Class Focus: Government Day
Government Day was held last Thursday, November 12. We were fortunate to have Mayor Moncrief join the class for about 30 minutes (longer than we had scheduled!) to discuss his views of the city budget, the diversity initiatives that the Council is considering, the Super Bowl and more. Assistant City Manager Fernando Costa briefed the class about the “State of the City.” The class put that information to use during Q&A dialogue with the city’s budget officer and parks director, using a group process technique called Critical Inquiry. The highlight of the day for many were field visits to 10 city departments, intended to showcase the variety of services provided by the City of Fort Worth. Please express your thanks to the planning team members for the day when you see them: Dana Burghdoff (team leader), Gwen Perez, Kathy Livingston, J.R. Holland, Jason Lamers and Don Smoot.
