Margi Cantrell (2002) has been elected to the Trophy Club City Council

The Tarrant Area Food Bank has named the following board members: Pete Anderson (2006), President –Elect; Charles Boswell (1979), and Angelas Kaufman (2009).

Karen Anisman (1978) and Susan Olmos Soto (2009) were 2009 honorees for the Fort Worth Business Press’ Great Women of Texas.

Among LFW members serving on the board of the North Texas Commission are Kenneth Barr (1973), immediate past chair, and Donna Parker (1981).

Dan Barrett (1994) was named Texas Monthly Super Lawyer in litigation for the 7th consecutive year.

Susan Blue (1987) recently received the Gold-Headed Cane Award from the Tarrant County Medical Society, elected by her peers as their mentor in terms of leadership, scientific practice of medicine, and ethical practice, etc. This honor is the highest that one can receive as a physician in Tarrant County.

Becky Renfro Borbolla (2006) was elected Chair of the Board of The Women’s Center of Tarrant  County.

Kimberly Britton (1993) was appointed by the Fort Worth City Council to erve on the Fort Worth Employees Retirement Fund Board.

Roy Brooks (1982) has joined the Trinity River Vision Authority Board of Directors.

The Funding Information Center has elected the following LFW members to its board: Sally Burt (2009), President; Dana Burghdoff (2005), Secretary; David Eason (2004), Amy Sutton (2009), CarlelaVogel (1979), Susan Doyle (1980), Judie Greenman (1974), James Holcomb (1974), William Lawrence (1978), Carolyn Martchenke (1999), and Val Wilkie, Jr. (FF1980).

Benton Cantey (2006) and Shauna Wright (LE 2010) have been elected partners at Kelly, Hart & Hallman.

Jay Chapa (1999) is the new chair of the board of Camp Fire USA First Texas Council.

David Chappell (1973) has been elected Chair of the Board of Visitors of the McDonald Observatory.

Linda Christie (1995) is Vice President of the Mayfest Inc. Board of Directors.

The new Meals on Wheels Board includes Al Dirnberger (1986),Ossana Hermosillo (2008), Bobby Tatum (2010), and Carlela Vogel (1979).

Eric Evans (2009) joined DoctorsinTraining.com as its human resources manager.

Gary Fickes (2010) is on the board of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition. He also serves on the board of the Northeast Tarrant Chamber along with Glen Whitley (1988) and Suzan Greene (2006).

Included in the new leadership class of the Foundation for Women’s Resources are Julie Hatch (1996) and Darla Robinson (1997).

Norman Herrera (LE 2009) was promoted to Chesapeake’s CNG and natural gas vehicle initiatives in Oklahoma City.

Community Trust Bank of Texas has opened the new Fort Worth Financial Center with Grant James (1997) as President, Tarrant County, and Martin Noto, Jr. (1995) as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Banker.

Kristy Libotte Keener (1990) won 2009 International MarCom Communication Award for Graphic Design.

Karva Kuykendall (2006) is the new Vice President of Development for Cancer Care Services.

Barbara Lamsens (2007) and Kathryn Thompson (2006) were selected from applicants across the state to participate in leadership training provided by the LBJ School of Public Policy at the University of Texas and funded by the One Star Foundation.

Elva LeBlanc (2008) received the James T. Rogers Distinguished Leadership Award from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Elva also serves on the board of the United Way of Tarrant County along with Norm Lyons (1986), Brian Newby (1997), Jeff King (1992), and Dick Ruddell (2004).

Bob Madeja (1987) received the 2009 Builder of the Year award from the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association.

Richard Maxwell (2003) is the new Chair of the North Texas Clean Air Coalition. Other board members are Chair-Elect Rusty Hodapp (2001), Leah King (2010), and Brinton Payne (2010).

Tom Mitchell (2008) was named CFO of the Year in the Non-Profit category in the inaugural CFO of the Year Awards presented by the Fort Worth Business Press for his work at the Museum of Science and History. Tom recently became CFO at Country Day.

Mark Nurdin (1999) was appointed CEO of the Fort Worth Region for Bank of Texas.

The Association for Fund Raising Professionals announced the following board members: Paula Parrish (2008, President; Monna Loftis (1980), Treasurer; Nancy Fisher (1996), James Holcomb (1974), and Roger Partridge (1999).

Clair Pritchett (2009) is the new Director of External Affairs and Major Gifts at Trinity Valley School.

Vernon Rew (1986) joined the law firm of Whitaker, Chalk, Swindle & Sawyer LLP.

Jay Rutherford (2000) has been named Chairman of The Texas Lyceum for 2010.

Tyler Trahant (2005) serves on the board of the Society of Commercial Realtors.

New board members for Kids Who Care are Darron Turner (2008), Karen Vermaire Fox (2006), and Steve Westermann (2000).

Lyn Walsh (1990), President of Careity Foundation, received the Art of Giving Award from Fort Worth Texas magazine on January 23, 2010. Walsh was recognized for her generous contributions to our community, Careity Foundation cancer patients and the children in the pediatric palliative care program.

Jim Wyss (2005) joined J.P. Morgan as a vice president and wealth adviser.

Fort Worth native and former United States Secretary of the Army Preston “Pete” M. Geren (1986) has been named senior adviser and president-elect of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation.

Valleau Wilkie Jr. (1980FF) will retire in June after serving 37 years as Executive Vice President of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation.
