The Program	Exposes established leaders to the diverse needs and issues in the community Creates connections between leaders related to those issues, and develops relationships to move projects forward Enhances community leadership capabilities through group processes Aligns personal passions and resources with vital issues to be addressed Supports community organizations with small group projects to create resources or solve problems	Introduces emerging leaders to leadership practices shared by successful community leaders Identifies personal leadership strengths Explores processes relevant to “how Fort Worth works” (collaboration, advocacy, board governance) Creates connections with community leaders through roundtable discussion Provides a catalyst for non-profit board service through the Board Shadow Program
Target Audience	Established leaders who are key decision makers	Emerging leaders, typically in their mid-20s to mid-30s
Selection Committee seeks individuals who...	Are leaders in their chosen profession, most often at the “Director” level and above Have a strong record of achievement in community/civic activities Have demonstrated decision-making experience on a broad array of community boards/organizations Have been involved in a non-profit organization for many years at a volunteer leadership level	Are rising stars in their profession Serve in a leadership capacity in organizations related to their career, academic institution or other young professionals organization Are outstanding volunteers for non-profit organizations Aspire to decision-making roles on community boards and city commissions
Schedule	September through May Typically Thursdays, once a month 10:00am – 5:00pm (A two-day retreat is scheduled at the beginning and end of the program.)	January through June Typically Fridays, every 3-4 weeks 8:30am – 1:00pm (A full-day retreat is scheduled at the beginning and end of the program.)
