Leadership Fort Worth is piloting an initiative within the Leadership Class designed to impact specific issues of concern in the community. Small groups of program participants have been meeting since October to learn about five key issues in more depth and are in the midst of developing a plan of action. The plans will be unveiled at the LFW Annual Meeting on June 13th, providing an opportunity for all LFW members to become engaged in their implementation.
The groups have been guided by LFW members serving as facilitators for the last several months. Thanks to Cindy Boyd, Jacqueline Meeks, Alan Lobaugh, Jared Cobb and John Sowada for their leadership and commitment! Beginning this month, the groups will transition to self-managed teams as they move from the education phase to the strategic phase.
The initiatives currently under development are:
- Arts Sustainability
- Obesity (Child Nutrition and Fitness)
- Support for TEXRail
- Employment for the Homeless
- Education (Mentoring)
Be sure to mark your calendar and join us on June 13th to learn how you can leverage your networks and resources along with other LFW members to make a difference in these vital issues.
